Bedrug Question

I did a search and didn't find much info on this. Is it better to:

* Cut a slit in the Bedrug for the cargo tie downs to pass through

or

* Remove them, put holes in the Bedrug for the screws and reinstall the tie downs over the Bed rug

Absolutely, positively go with "Remove them, put holes in the Bedrug for the screws and reinstall the tie downs over the Bed rug"

Actually, remove them, put the screws in with just a few threads, install the BedRug over them, feel for the screws, cut a small "+" over the heads and push them through the BedRug. When re-installing the tie downs, only remove one screw at a time.

Mount tiedowns on top of bedrug

Just be careful when you cut the bedrug for the screws to pass through. Once the tip of your knife breaks through, it's really easy for the blade to pop on through and cut quite a bit more of a slit than you intended.

As I recall, I removed the tiedown, then pressed the bedrug against the wall of the bed over the spot where the tiedown had been, and it left an impression in the back of the bedrug where the screws are. Then you can slit the bedrug from the backside. Like I said though, be careful not to overcut.
