Great job. I got a 2012 FX4 in Tuxedo Black. Not liking the badges on it, at least the chrome part. Can't decide if I want to keep the insides black and paint the chrome Sterling Grey or centers grey and the chrome black.

Either way I go it def won't be plastic dipped.

i'd keep the black and do a grey on the chrome, so from far away it looks machined/ has that steel look to it

BLACKOUT, thanks very much for this write-up. I did this exactly how you did for my 06. I painted yesterday and am going to attach them today. My only debate is that my truck is navy blue and the letters don't "pop". In fact from a distance it probably looks all black, but in the light you can see it's blue inside. What do you guys think, should I change it to silver with black outline? Would still look better than the big retangular chrome badge. Opinions?

What are you guys doing to the chrome ford emblems on the grill and tailgate? Im wanting to switch to these badges as well but wondering what others have done. Also the "flex fuel" on the bottom right of tailgate. Can that be removed or is there mounting holes behind it?

Did your truck have the big pinstripe down the door and to the back of the truck? I believe that is part of the appeaance package. If so, how difficult was it to remove that pinstripe?

Been thinking about painting my emblems black and painting the lettering to match the color of the truck itself. This makes me want to do so even more.

Black, I too love the look, but I'm not a fan of the textured effect in the silver. Did you give any thought to scuffing, priming, sanding smooth, and re-spraying the color on them?

For me, a smooth look would take them over the top.

I removed all the "flex fuel" emblems off my truck..no pins just tape, was fairly easy to remove.
