So what did the oil look like (and how does it compare with the oil drained from the NA motors like the 5.0, 6.2, etc.)?

In my case, it looked and smelled the same as used oil from any of my other NA Ford vehicles; no noticeable difference.

Same here it was black you didn't want to get it all over the place just like every other time I've changed the oil. I could not smell any of the gas smell that sometimes is in a DI motor.

FYI
I have a 2011 F150 EcoBoost 4X4 with HD tow package (SuperDuty axles/leafs/drive shaft-built in KC) and I have the two rubber plugs in my pan.

Thanks for the oil change post!

not to dig up an old thread, but wondering if anyone thought about putting a big ziplock bag under the filter when removing it to prevent the oil spillage. i am getting ready to change oil tonight for the first time, so i'm not even sure it can be done given the space.

i have to do this when changing the oil in my lexus given the oil filter location, just thought i'd ask
