Strictly for the smooth, clean look.

well it could be done to a stock truck to make the tailgate harder to steal......

I wouldn't recommend this for someone thats getting in and out of the bed daily, or several times daily.

I maybe drop the tailgate once biweekly....

doesn't make sense, having to climb under your truck to use the tailgate. its a truck. why get a truck if you're not using it?

You have no idea how much that truck gets used. Towing trailers, hauling stuff, etc. Some of us go the extra effort for what looks good to us, yet is still functional. Besides, with Patrick being 6'6" and the truck dropped so low, he just reaches over and lifts it out.

I use my truck bed way to much to remove the handle. I agree the smooth look is great, but would not work for me. My son did a similar project by removing the door handles from his Monte Carlo SS and installing vet handles for the smooth look. Too much work for me...
