PRND21 pointer fix
#46
fiveoh, I figured to fix the tab it would involve more work than I wanted si I took the little wheel loose so I had all the play I needed on the spindle. I pulled it back to where I thought it would need to be to line up and then wrapped tape around it behind the white piece. Had to do it twice because I was by myself and couldn't see if it was exactly were it needed to be. Works fine now and the pointer is were it should be. If you find an easy way to replace the broken piece post it. Thanks

It's back to the '92+ trucks as well. If you can't find it, keep lookin', it's there.
I've repaired a few of the busted plastic brackets with just a hot glue ball. The bolt I've found to be a 5.5mm size to take it off for a better angle.
Junkyards are a good one to source from if you don't mind taking a few minutes and removing the speedo cluster to remove the display module.
Or just swap in a stick shift.

I would look for you, but if I ever got in position to see up under there, I might not ever be able to get up or out of the truck.

Fix for broken tab
Hey again just wanted to say thanks and after reading all the post and reply I got under the dash head by the brake pedal looking all the way up to where the steering column meets the dash and finally found it. Yes mine was broken also and I read about the tape fix or $35. The tape will eventually move on you and leave you with the same problem.
What I did was adjust the cable with the nut and pulled the cable down to where it should be. I then used 2 thicker zip ties just where the threads start and under the plastic piece to hold it in place. Its a perfect fit

No Problem at all trust me if I can save a few bucks I like to and plus it looks like it could involve a little bit of work changing the part. You are right you really have to look up in there , even with directions and knowing around where it is It took me longer to find it then it did to fix it
