will this work on a 2004 F150 lariat?

Not unless you installed a Sync Head Unit in a 2004.

 

I have a question...

I purchased a 750 Gig WD "My Passport" Hard Drive and got it connected to the small USB Port and my SYNC doesn't detect the drive. I assume from what I read I need to format the drive. WD only lets you format the drive using FAT32 it to one 32 Gig partition. Someone else wrote to use the software "Swiss Knife". I found it and downloaded it and it is the same. In fact it wont even format this drive.

Would someone please help the old stupid guy?

What do you mean by doesn't detect? Which USB did you connect to (dash or No. 2)? Did you select USB as your source?

Did you put any MP3s or other compatible audio on the drive?
