The previous owner aparently "used" the bumper once as it was bent a little down in the front. This left a bigger gap between the bumper & surround which, to tell the truth, I never noticed it till looking at some pics of my first FTW rally @ Daytona Beach. I was parked beside Ross (Fordtrucker) 1997.
I did some measuring and decided that the 99+ surround would fit.

Looks great 
I like the custom grille 
you know you can adjust the bumper so the one side isn't down further than the other. Some trucks come from the factory a little out of whack
