Retrax bed cover

Does anyone know anything about the Retrax bed cover. Do you like it. I've seen it on the net but I want some buyer info.

Thanks

I have had one on for about a year and like it . Simple to install and use. I got rid of a hard fiberglass lid for the Retrax because I wanted to be able to haul something taller than the bed.

2sheds, if I may.... I've had my Retrax for 2 1/2 years now and I haven't experienced any rattling open, partially opened or fully closed.

Love my Retrax

Saw this thread and had to put in my 2 cents....

I bought mine in June and have never had a problem with it. Works great in keeping the box dry and secure. Been through some horrific rain storms and had only insignificant water seepage through the slot where the cover rolls up into the canister. Also no problems with squeeks or any other noises for that matter.

I would highly recommend Retrax to anyone looking for this style of cover. No special maintenance required either (vs. the Roll n Lock and Pace Edwards rolltop covers, which have vinyl covers that have to be conditioned from time-to-time, or so I've heard).

Hope this helps......

Montinore, I couldn't of said it better myself, as far as keeping the rain out. Very little seepage by the canister. Oh yeah, and I love my Retrax 2. Along with it being somewhat unique. I have never seen one in my town.... other than mine. I also like the fact that you can lock the cover in any position to haul things in and your not restricted to the height of what you're hauling. Great investment for me.
Every so often I'll use Black Magic to inhance the shine on the cover.... works great!

I have been disappointed with the leakage in my Retrax lately. I have the drain hoses for the canister now and seem to get more water than before. I haven't tried figuring out where all the water is coming from. My bed will smell of mildew if I leave stuff in it during rain.

Fireman.....

Have you checked the weatherseal around the front of the canister rail and along the side-rails? How about the seal around the canister cover? Does the sliding end of the cover extend over the top of the tailgate?

Just some ideas on where water may be leaking in - not sure if you may have already checked these areas.

Hope this helps some........

Best of luck.....

retrax cover --- check out access rollup cover

We are from the cold climate. A friend of mine had one on his new chevy but it cracked pretty bad. The slates separated in the cold. I am not a chevy fan, but i think it was the cover and not the truck. I have an access rollup cover for my truck. It is great. I bought mine at RealTruck.Com

It is definately worth checking out.

Good Luck

Bought a ******* Fiberglass Truck lid for my Harley but they shipped me the wrong size and I did not return it in the alotted 30 days so I got stuck with it. It fits and extended cab f150 with a 6.5' bed. Got it for around a grand but will part with it for 750.00 Anyone interested email me palumbon@hotmail.com. In boston area would perfer to have it picked up.
