Lightning bumper fog light bracket?

I have reviewed several searches, researched fordpartsonline, karkraft, ebay, and a stack of truck mags. and still can not find the Lightning fog light brackets and a light housing that will fit the bumper and related bracket. I would like to install a "fog light" but put a blue driving light in the light housing instead of having the standard fog light yellow.

I Installed a Ford oem 99' Lightning Bumper on my 99' F150 supercab/flareside. Does anyone know where I can get the following parts:

1. The 99' Lightning bumper brackets, to bolt on a fog light size light in the bumper?

2. Lights, the size and shape of the oem Lightning fog lights, but with the ability to change the bulb?

Thanks for any help.

Unhappy I got the same problem.

I got a 2002 xlt and the ford lightning bumper is sitting in the basement. My honey comb grill inserts for it are in the mail.
I heard you could put piaa 510 in the bumper, but you have to fool with mounting brackets. If i get the factory fogs do i have to fool with the mounting brackets. Any help is very appreciated. I am really confused. LoL

Invalid_access,

Man, I do not know! I am more confused than ever! Everyone told me that you can use the 87 to 93 Mustang GT fogs since they are supposely the same as the Lightning. But, the GT fogs are an enclosed light that has some odd looking bolts on it. It does not look like it will bolt to the opening in our bumpers.

If I find something out I will post in this thread.

go ask over on the Lightning section, someone there will know.

I don't know the answer, but I can tell you 99-2000 and 2001-2002 use differant brackets.

Don's Bolt,

Thanks. At least for me, that informs me of two facts including, 1. there is an actual bracket for the lights; and 2. I must narrow my search to only two year models.

Thanks again. That helps a lot.

invalid access,

Thanks. I am currently waiting to see if this guy I bought a lower grill off of, can locate a source for the fog light brackets. If so, karkraft.com has the oem Ligtning foglights for 39.95 each.

I will post what he finds in his search.

invalid access,

I just got off the toll free phone number for fordpartsonline.com

I spoke with "Gary". Gary is always helpful, but I thought that they must not carry the brackets since I could not find it in the diagrams. However, Gary found the fog light brackets! Of course there is a right and left bracket. The Ford oem numbers are 1L3Z17E856BA and 1L3Z17E857BA (the only difference in the numbers is that one is a "...856..." and one is a "...857..."

The approximate cost for both brackets is $54.00 without shipping.

I am going to call him back soon and order them.

I have not decided what I am going to do about fog lights. In the Lightning section, some guy noted that a Mustang site has them for about 20 bucks each and of course there is the karkraft site.

But, there is the problem of a plug-in and wiring as well.

invalid access,

I called my local huge Ford parts center. They told me that Ford has an aftermarket fog light kit, a oem fog light kit or I can buy just portions of the fog light stuff.

I have a business trip that is going to take me right by this place, so I am going to check it out.

The ford parts tech said that the oem kit comes with the brackets, light housings and bulbs for two foglight setups for around $155.00. I thought the light housing was the bulb? If the bulb can be changed for a blue driving light bulb, I am going to go for the kit minus the yellow fog light bulb.

Iron Horse,

Is the light housing the lamp part. Where might i call to get that kit you are talkin bout. Do those kits have the wires to run the fog lights.

invalid access,

Do not know yet, if light housing is seperate from bulb. Most I have seen are sealed bulb/housing all in one.

Not for sure about wires either yet.

If I go to the local Ford parts place tomorrow I will check all those questions out.

However, at www.fordpartsonline.com you can talk to "Gary" at 1-800-549-2005. I talked to him about the brackets. Yet, he knows about all the parts.

I actually talked to my local (50 miles away) parts place about the "kits". However, their info conflicted with fordpartsonline info. It appears that there may or may not be two different types of Lightnig bumpers (99-2000 and 2001 to current) and there may or may not be two different types of housing/bulbs. The only thing that did not conflict is that, it appears that the foglight brackets are the same regardless of year (99-to-current) and the brackets, and housing/bulb for both sides is around 150 to 160 without shipping.
