Cool

5.4L and 4.6L are the same. If you have an old set of valve covers it is best to send them in because it takes a while. It is a carbon fiber coating which is layed over the stock valve covers. It cost about $125 per cover or $250 for the set.

I'm trying to figure out how much interest there might be in cast aluminum covers for the truck style 4.6/5.4 heads.

There is a guy making them for the Mustang & Bullitt, they sell for $250 plain & $400 polished.

He is facing some significant additional tooling costs to make these covers for the trucks & does not want to lay out the tooling costs if there is not enough interest.

What do you think?

These are the 'stang covers.

The picture of the polished one is preproduction casting, the production ones have 5 slots machined into them.

If there is enough interest & they start tooling up, the truck covers would be available mid winter.

ooooh, I want some!! The aluminum of course Any chance of some black ones with polished fins?? Like the old M/T's or Edelbrock style?? They will definitely be a market for them either way. These boring black covers have to go! hehe,,,,,,98

yeah, the question about black covers with the raised piece polished has come up before, I will ask the guys about it.

Do you know if the old M/T ones were painted or had some other type of coating to make them black?

I guess I should hop off this carbon fibre valve cover post ( stop hogging it ) & make my own...
