Blue Bulbs???

I am getting a set of 02HD lights for my 00 HD, and was thinking about getting some blueish tint bulbs. i have a few questions though

1. i know the size for the fogs (H1), but what are the # codes for the headlights??
2. what brand should i go with, cuz i want the bulbs with a slightly blueish tint
3. are they legal?
4. where can i get them at? pepboys? website? about how much?

thanks for any help.

Thumbs up

You can get Xenon bluish tint bulbs for around $25, or at least I can I use Eurolites Xenon "fusion" bulbs. They are bright white with a slight blue tint when on, and the headlights look blue when they are off. The headlights should be the standard #9007. You can get xenon H-1 through H4's I believe, so they will match the headlights. Shoot me an email if you want to get a set of Eurolites, a friend of mine sells them very reasonably priced, probably less than other bulbs with the shipping even. Later.,,,,98

Notice the blue look in m,y signature pic

I do have a pic or two with them turned on, but for some reason the blueness will not show in a pic Right now I have the "plasma" series that I just put in today. I can take a pic of those? They are supposed to have a purplish "hid" look. Wait! I do have a pic of them on in the daytime(highbeams, though)They are a little BMW-like, but more white really.,,,,98

I have never used PIAA's but their foglights seem to be good quality? I usually go for the brightest I can find, and the blue look is a bonus to me. I like a whiter light, the bluer the bulb doesn't mean the better the bulb I've found. I bought some Hyper whites, and they were very blue and had about half the output of the Eurolites. I was not happy, lol! I bought another set of Euros the next day I don't have a clue which one is bluer between PIAA's and Euros.,,,,,98

3. are they legal?
This will depend on where you are located, and just how 'blue' they are. In many states non-emergency vehicles are not allowed to operate on public streets with blue lights, as blue is reserved for public safety vehicles. Also, just because it is legal in your state does not mean it is legal in your city, unless there is some sort of state pre-emption over local municipalities making their own traffic ordinances.

In Ohio, for instance, you can have blue lights on your vehicle, statewide, provided they are solid (don't rotate or blink). In Columbus, OH, however, blue lights are illegal, period. This causes some confusion (wonder why?).

Check your local listings, or use them just to look cool in parking lots or at shows.

Mike

PS Red lights displayed anywhere but to the rear will often encounter the same problems. This will also vary heavily by where you are.

BLUE TINT BULBS

98SCREAMER,

I was reading this post and saw where you said a friend sells the Eurolites. Does the friend also have these for the foglights for the Screws ? I have been looking for fogs that will match the Eurolites I have in the heads. I would be interested in buying some if he can help me out. Thanks

Picture.

Here are my Xenon Super White Lights. However they are more blue than white. They are legal and SUPER BRIGHT!

They cost me 50 bucks and I would have to say this is the best mod so far. It was cheap and was very functional.

I know for certain that I have bought xenons in H3 in both 55 and 100 watts, and possibly are available in most sizes. JC Whitney does or did carry all types of xenon bulbs, also. No idea where'd they would be on the site, though. I still use the physical catalog. Give them a try. I will call my friend and see if he carries them. I don't know how close I am getting to acting as a vendor, maybe we should conduct this offline? I'm in no way a employee of this guy, just a good friend that has a great shop.,,,,,98
