Have a 97-98 and looking for a front end make over?
I was looking at the cervini website and they have come out with a pretty cool looking grille! I am debating on purchasing it... If I thought I could fit a billet grille or cover up the part where the grille would fit in to make it one whole solid peace I would do it... I would also have to get an airdam after I bought this grille or try and trade someone my crome bumper for a black one that I could paint.

It looks good. Very different.
I don't think I would cover up the center since that would drastically effect your cooling. I also think this would look just fine with your chrome bumper. A lot of f150'ers are running colored grills with chrome bumpers.
