Driveshaft Polished
I was helping a freind of mine polish out the frame of a Honda street bike, and I couldnt beleive how shiny we got that aluminum to get. Well at the same time I just received my driveshaft for my truck and I noticed that it was aluminum. So we got the idea to see if we could get it to look the same as his bike did. I just finished it up and man it looks good. The only downside is that its under the truck. lol But it really dresses it up under there.
its easy, just takes a little patience.
Materials I used. 3M Imperial wetordry sandpaper.
You will need the following grade: 120 - 2000. You really dont need to go from 120 to 160 then to 180 ect. Like I went from 120 grade and spent some time doing that then jumped to 320 and you can skip through the lower grades from 120 to 600. Its just real important that when you get to 600 and up, that you take your time and dont try and finish to quick. When you get to 1000 sand dry first, then wet the sand paper and sand it wet. From 1000 up to 2000 just wet sand but, like I said take your time. Finally when you are finished sanding it down all the way up to wet 2000, dry the driveshaft off. The driveshaft isnt going to look really shiny at all so dont get worried. The last step is to purchase some MOTHERS Mag & Aluminum Polish. Get a cloth and apply the mothers is a circular motion ( like waxing a car). Then take a towel and wipe the mothers off and there ya go its polished out. You can probally go on the internet and find some better tricks and tips but like I said its came out just fine on my driveshaft. You can probally go on some street bike pages and find somthing on polishing out frames of bikes. I just applied the same steps for doing my driveshaft. Once you get started you will see its not really that complicated at all. Time it Takes about 4-6 hours.

hmmm, i was thinking about doing that on my HD truck, because the 00 and 01 HD's came stock with an aluminum driveshaft. It'll be a pain cuz i'm not gonna remove the driveshaft, but i think i may taclke this one.
o yeah, mothers mag and aluminum polish ROCKS!
My one rim was dull from teh factory, and it shined it up just as shiney as the others.

LoL, yeah it is devotion.
I spent 20+ hours getting it ready for the last car show, so why not polish the driveshaft.
I laid on my creeper for a few hours before when i cleaned under the truck by hand, so why not. LoL
pics will come if i decide to do it. I may wait until next year, not sure yet.
