Splash guards

Me and a buddy were looking at my 97' F-150 XL so we could put mud flaps on. I bought some for the front becuase they are easy to mount on but the back dosnt really have any support bars to hold the mud flap on the inside. Do I have to get a special mounting kit? Or can I rig up a piece of metal from an exsisting bolt to hold the inside part of the flap. I got 12" x 18" for the front and they arent contored, its just a rectangle of rubber pretty much. Do I have to get contored ones for the back?

I had my dealer install Ford molded splash guards during my first oilo change.
I was watching while the truck was getting serviced, and it was a couple of screws to hold them in place.
With the molded ones, you can hardly know its on there, blends in pretty good.

Here's a pic
