i need some serious help and fast!

i just pulled apart my whole dash and took off the speedometer needles to install some white-faced gauges. the directions that the company gave me aren't worth s***. someone told me that in some cases u place the new gauge right over the old one. but when i did that, EX: the park-brake and seatbelt light do not line up properly on the new gauge. i can see a light shinning thru, but i can't make out what the words say. so i tried to take off the old gauge and it wouldn't give an inch?... HELP!
also, i tried installing the needles back in, and it didn't turn out that good. EX: the temperature needle (bottom-right) would not move at all. i was sitting there with the engine on for nearly 20 mins and it didn't move any. the rpm needle worked fine, but it didn't seem to be as "sensitive" to the touch as before. is there something i can do?... HELP!
thanx
JP

yes helpful hints.

#1) MARK CLEARLY the position of your other needles, or else it will be off and you dont' want your needles off

#2) THE MOST IMPORTANT!!!... When putting the MPH need back on.... Press the needle on BELOW the bottom plastic piece that sticks out, then slowly pull the needle over it so it rests at 0. This will ensure that your speedometer is right on. If that is confusing, you understand when you install yours..

#3) Make sure you let the engine get as hot as it was when you took off the needles to ensure that they are at the same position.

#4) Dont' remove the Stock Gauge,,, you don't have to do that...

Good luck!

Jon
