Cool WELL, I WAS BORED THIS WEEKEND!lol! NEW MODS (pics)

HI!... Well I was bored and was modding in the garage this weekend. I built two "TORQUE" plates and port/polished my new 90mm TB. I also fabricated up a custom built aluminum MAF - FILTER adapter that has a 4" diameter to match the new 90mm MAF. Now I have to change all my air induction tubing over to 4". Here's a few pics. My "TORQUE" plates are not polished and the bracket hardware is'nt painted black yet. That's next weekends project!LOL! I built the "TORQUE" plates because my engine torques over a ton during hard launches and keeps cracking my pre-cats all the time. So far NO cracks. The "HIME" (spelling?) joints are stainless steel and the tubing is chrome moly. All welding is TIG. The billet aluminum is 1/4" thick and all mounting hardware is stainless steel.

Cool

HI!... Well guys I was bored again this weekend too!

This is some shots of the aluminum 100mm MAF - FILTER adapter that I fabricated. I also spent some time polishing it too.

Here's some shots of the adapter bolted up to the 90mm MAF. (actually it's closer to 95mm, now!)

Here is a shot of the 90mm MAF sensor that has now had the side bar removed and has been totally de-burred and smoothed out.

Here's a shot of my passenger's side 'TORQUE PLATE" all polished up.

Here's my custom fabricated tubing that gives me a transition between the 4 inch diameter tubing coming from the 90mm MAF to my HOLLEY 80MM TB. It's goes from 4 inch to 3.5 inches. I also ported/polished that too. When i's done it will be ceramic coated inside and out, along with the rest of the ar intake tubing.

I also painted he "TORQUE PLATES" hardware (BLACK) and hand ported/polished the 90mm MAF to get rid of the casting burrs and to perfectly mtch the aluminum MAF - FILTER adapter. As soon as I'm done, I'll post some more pics.

But does it run better?

Neal:

You went through a lot of work and what I see is impressive. The question I have is: did all you work pay off? Does the truck run better or have improved performance? What would you differently and why?

Cool

HI!... None of the mods above have been installed on the truck, yet. I have to install everything at the same time, because that's what my new chip is set up for. I have ported/polished my TB, TB ELBOW and gasket matched my TB ELBOW to my lower intake manifold and noticed a good size difference. I dropped off about 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile at least with just those few mods. I'll let you guys know how much of a difference it makes when I get back to the dragstrip in about a month and a half. Hopefully I'll break into the 13's N/A.
