Question about Reflexxion hoods...

I've decided to dress up my '97, part of the plan is the Reflexxion "Cobra" steel hood. It's already ordered from one of our local sources, and it's mine regardless. No backing out w/o "burning" a source!!

But after reading some of the owner info here and elsewhere, I'm questioning the wisdom of installing it...

I've read topics regarding making cowl hood functional, but nothing which says how it is originally. So, my question is does this thing seal to the cowl or is it open backed??
Or is there a close-out panel available?

Can't find any info or pics from the rear.

This is for appearance only, on a daily driver which sits outside year-round. All weather, rain & snow. Anything open in the back just flat AIN'T gonna work!

Thanks for any info,
Ed

I think I've found the answer.
This pic
shows the underside as complete across the back, but with holes up to the cowl scoop. Looks easy to block off.

Can anyone verify that?

By the way, I've read several times of people wanting the Reflexxion hood without the holes.
They DO make one, maybe it's new. We recieved one by mistake on my initial order. Package had a different part # on it, we sent it back. It was 701700 , and it looked like the one for the SuperDuty, with the grooved center. But this was DEFINATELY an F150 hood, flat in front instead of dropping down above the headlamps, and the box said 97-98 F150, F250.

Found a pic! -
