Question Bug deflector?

I'm looking to possibly get a bug deflector for my 1997 F-150 EX. cab 4x4 longbed. It seems that the Bugdeflector II and the Lund deflectors are two of the most popular on the market.
Which of the two would you recommend???? I think someone said the quality of the Lund is better, however it's quite a bit more money......any info appreciated.

I have the Bugflector II on my 2000 and it has been on there for 2 years with no problems all I can say is when you put it on make sure you put it on good and tight.

Thumbs up LUND!

Go with the lund. I have had both. The bug flector II first. It lasted for about 3 months then cracked and broke off. Plus it is verry hard to clean and wax under. (since it attaches with stickers.) The LUND triton is really well made. I have had it for about 2 years and I love it. It is much thicker than the bug flector and is Alot better to clean under. Its worth the extra money.

Thanks guys for your responses,....I'm leaning toward the Lund because of the quality, and the waxing ease.

Ford deflector

I bought the Ford bug deflector and have some issues with it:

1. The paper template that comes with it to site the glue-on dimples onto the top of the hood wasn't very accurate. Had to relocate some of the dimples when I realized they weren't properly sited to keep the deflector from laying down against the hood. And this in turn caused two of them to lose their stickiness. Bought some double-sided moulding tape to re-attach the dimples.

2. The underside of the deflector has abraded the top of the grille underneath the hood lip. The clearance between the hood and the top of the grille seems too narrow for the deflector. This don't seem right, seeing as how it's the "official" Ford deflector - it's the type of thing I would have expected from an aftermarket product. This of course doesn't matter unless I decide to remove the deflector, and even then I'm not sure the spots where the paint is worn away will show.

other than that, it's a fine deflector ;-)
