I am considering the HZengineering tail lights, but am not sure wether to get the clear or the red. Does anyone have their tail lights in a stock lense? Opinions?

Cool

Thanks loco......I had a chance to get the new Lightning tails before they were jacked up in price but opted not to. I am curious about the red or clear LED in the red housing because the red LED may wash out in a red lense. On the other hand, the white may be a little to intense? Can I assume that you have the red LED in an Altezza style housing?

i did have the red leds in the altezzas tailights1, but they where not the hz engineering ones...they where the cheap ones..and i loved the way the red shows a night, but it barely shows in the day. from what i hear is that the hz engineering ones are like 10 times brighter than the cheap ones and will show in the day and if they are that much brighter, man there gonna look awesome in any type of taillight you use.

Thumbs up

I tried going the cheap route with some no name led bulbs They were half as bright as factory bulbs, yanked them out in 5 minutes, lol. Definitely go HZ bulbs if you're doing leds, as for color of "leds" I can't help you on that. I'm running APC standard style red bulbs in my CF tails. It gives a beautiful deep red color at night. The factory clear bulbs turned them orangey pink, YUCK I'm happy with how the look, and replacements are as close as the nearest Pep Boys or Autozone.,,,,98

Lightbulb

Thanks '98! I'm leaning toward the red, mostly because of the brightness. We'll have to see.....

98SCREAMER, Are the cheap LED's you are talking about the APC ones? Or are these pretty good? I have the APC's and they seem pretty good. I'm running the red ones in the stock tails. Are the expensive ones that much brighter?
