I'll get some close up in the morning. I had it painted and yes they sanded it and used a fixer.

Cool

Now I "have" to paint at least the center piece. I was taking off one of those stick-on cell phone holders, and it took the paint with it! Oh well, I just needed some inspiration, and now I've got it,,,,98

I think that all I want to paint is the center piece. Doglegs looks mighty shiney so it must be really smooth.

It sure would be great if we could find out just exactly what materials and additives someone used. You do know that imitation is most sincere form of flattery right

Thumbs up

That is definately top class artisanship! It puts my $40 wheelskin to shame in appearances. Not to mention, it took me 3 grueling hours (and some cuts to prove it) to stitch the wheelskin on myself. Real leather is it for driving.

I got off my butt and took a few more pictures for you. They are at

I will go by my painter next week and ask him how he painted the dash and what he used. Hope this will help.

Ok, now wait, that's one I know. Yes, it was finished just like outer paint with a sanding then clearcoat.

Ok guys I did it. I painted the center part of my dash and it turned out great. I used the pepboys stuff. I found the paint made by platicote that was for E-4 red paint code and the flex primer for plastic bumpers and stuff. I did have to go to Autozone for the clear it is made by dupli color since PepeBoys was out of it.

I will post a new thread inder the interior threads wioth more info. Here are some pics of the progress. Picture suck I know but you get the idea.

Yup the small one is the clear. I just got finished and got it back it the truck looks great IMO. Just what I wanted turned out great and everything was bought at either PepBoys (paint and primer) or Autozone (Clear)

Thanks,

No I think that is about it for me. I am not part of the paint everything that you can unscrew or pop off crowd. I just wanted a little something done. I am very happy with the way it turned out but I think that my red and black wheel shin is gonna go just to much rice for me.
