Hmmm didn't find really what I needed there, I want to know how much the entire front end, the grille, the bumper mounts, and the bumper will cost, I know that there are alot of people with 97-98 year truck, that have swapped out their frontends, to update their trucks, and thats what I want to do, but I need to know what kinda grip its gonna take out of my wallet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THX Droop

Thumbs up

Dude, go with the Navigator front end! It looks killer, IMHO, you have to change the entire front clip, I think you can get everything you need for around 2K. Just an idea, man!

droopy88,
If you must change that beautiful truck go here for the lightning front clip

Personally I love the 97-98 front ends. Just wish I could find a nice air dam to go with mine.

Lightbulb I have your answers!

I have a 98 and did this to mine. I replaced my front end with a 2001 lightning front end. The reason I went with the 01 front end is I liked the fog lights bettter and they won't fit the older L bumper covers. That's the only dif. in the bumper covers.

To answer some of your questions. Yes you need to replace your bumper brackets, and there is a steel bumper that is under the L bumper cover. There is also a bracket for each fog light and to strengthen the bumper cover. And a bunch of small things also. You will also need a new grill and a grill to fit in the bumper cover. I put factory but I am going to replace it with aftermarket grills.
As for prices it depends on where you get them at. I bought all of mine at ford but my pricing is different because I live in Canada and I got them wholesale.
Here is a web address you can see the parts breakdown and Part #'s. This is the printout from ford.
Hope this helps

P.S. nice truck!

At this web site you can get all the brackets, the lights, bumper cover and billet grills for the top and bottle including all brackets needed to install for one price. All you need to add is the steel sub bumper.

Also check out this bumper cover
