GAY!

I can think of much more worthwhile expendatures than making your truck look like it's from south of the border.

just my opinion.

Mitch,

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This site strives on people's different interests, and just because I personally dislike lifted trucks, that does not mean I can go around telling every owner of lifted trucks that they look GAY!

Also, what's with this "south of the border" comment??? I could take that as a racist comment, just because I was born south of the border.

I usually ignore posts like yours but man, this time I just had to let you know this one went below the belt.

Alf,

Sorry to be so harsh, but living in southern AZ, I see more than my share of "ethnically altered vehicles". I don't mean it to be racist, it's characteristic of the hispanic truck owners in my area. Their more common modifications include 12" wide wheels with stretched tires, the window air deflectors, some silly pinstripe kit, tonneau cover with drilled snaps, lots of chrome door edge protector strips (lining everything), Chain liscence plate frames, and the chrome rocker panel things (that you want).

I usually tell people exactly what's on my mind. I even went as far as to tell one of the L guys that I didn't like the 01 taillights (and that they were kinda gay...)

I guess to each their own. Maybe you were just thinking you might have wanted these, but my negative comment could persuade you otherwise?

I live in South Texas and I know exactly what you mean. Here we have velvet dashes, 4x4 stickers on 4x2's, akward pinstriping, the drivers last name posted on the back windows, the driver and his girlfriend stickers on the passenger and driver sides, chrome fender covers, chrome side panels, fuzzy dice, etc. I don't think what you said is racist ONE BIT! If I saw a BMW from behind with a sticker that read "I Love Golf"...humm...I would instantly think...white, uppermiddle class yuppy...and 9 out of 10 times I would be right. Does this make me racist against whites? Of if I see a Honda Civic with oversized mufflers, oriental writing, and 20' rims I would instantly think that would probably be an asian person....I would usually be right. You may have been a little too...cough "expressive" in your post, but you apologized for it...no biggie...everyone have a beer..I'll buy the first round...cha-ching

Mitch,

Check the post, It is not me who wants the chromed rocker panels but RedFlarside2000. And no, I don't like any of the stuff you mentioned.

Now, I agree that Hispanics don't have the best taste when it comes to mods, but if we are going to use this parameter then I guess I could say that all lifted trucks belong to rednecks, right?

I just think is not cool to LABEL people (or races for this matter) when it comes to vehicles, like a lot of people do here when it comes to Hondas and such.

But any way, I'm sure the webmaster is going to ask us to take this argument somewhere else.

one for Alf

Racist comments have no place in a society based on freedom. "Give me your weak, your tired, your hungry" resides on the statue of liberty for a reason. When did we get so biggoted that we forgot our roots. King's speech of "I have a dream" references our origional tennets of freedom of expression, the right to bear arms, and all men being created equal in their right to pursue happiness.
If a chain licence plate frame and your girlfriend's monicer on the rear of your truck make you happy, then I am happy for you. I am glad that they are at least driving a Ford truck, but they are free to drive a nissan if they want to. Such is the way of a capitalist country.
Some folks dont like the mods to my truck, but they do not make payments or pay for the insurance, so why would it concern me. If I had my way, the passenger side and entire rear seat area would be converted into a wet bar! (local and National laws not withstanding)
I know that I don't want my truck to look like everyone elses, nor does Ford for that matter. That is why there are so many options, models, colors, and after market parts available.

Some opinions are just better left unsaid. Yours in particular!

F150 Ram Air,
Your truck always makes me happy! I like Alf's also, although they do not have a lot in common except for originality and a unique flare for style/mod selections.
Can you imagine being chastised or racially insulted for your choice?
Many people assume that I am black when they see my truck.
The reaction is ackward when they find out that I am a career infantryman with 18 years in service, and a ranger, pathfinder, jumpmaster, drill sergeant, and master fitness qualified caucasian from Oklahoma.
Like I said, it is my truck and................

Ricers with asians?

Is asians not right? I should know, I work in a Japanese restaurant (and theyre all Korean, kooky huh?) But 99% of all ricers I see are filled with white suburban kids. I have on very few occasions seen them filled with asians, and they tend to be the people I work with. Crazy suburbs, huh?

Spork, I know what you mean. Most people I see driving ricers are young (16-25) white boys/men, very few asian-americans. As for the radically/tastelessly modified hispanic-american trucks, I don't see too many hispanics driving them, mostly white 'necks. A lot of the hispanic-americans have taken their F-150 badges off and replaced them with these "LOBO" badges, what's up with that?
America is racially diverse and so are the cars each race drive.
Just my $.02

No Limits,

Nobody said anything about your truck or Alfs. You guys have nice rides. But, the guy had an opinion. To be honest with ya, I personally think they're gay too. I can't figure out why you would want that look on a truck. Your right, we don't make the payments or pay the insurance. Do we have to, to have an opinion. BroncoAZ spoke how he felt about them. That's all. Don't think he deserved all the BS you guys dished out towards him.. I'm sure you had an opinion someone didn't agree with. I look at it this way. If you don't like what the guy says. Don't reply. Move on. You just don't bother with him later on. So just relax dude.
