Lightning speedo?

Will these gauges fit on a regular f150? I have a 2001 2wd 5.4 auto and I plan on being able to run over the 100mph mark that the regular f150's are limited to. This is why I am interested in the Lightning gauges which read up to 140 I believe. If it will work, what else would I need? Recalibrate the speedo, etc.

Thanks,
Keoni

Actually, there's a built-in digital speedometer that will go over 100. It uses the digital odometer display. I'm not sure how it's done, but it consists of holding the trip reset button and turning the key on or something like that.

You need to do a search on the exact procedure in either the engines or Lightning forums.

I think there was a recent post somewhere that said the procedure and pics were on mustang.net? Not sure of the exact url.

Cool

HI!... KEONI : I looked into this very mod about 2 years ago. Yes the LIGHTNING guage cluster will bolt right into your truck. Make sure your order the proper year of your truck with the same year LIGHTNING cluster. My FORD dealer wanys $300(CAN) and you have to trade in your old cluster as a core. They will take down your odometer milage and before they sent you the new guage cluster they will calibrate the new odfometer to your current milage. You will also get a vacuum guage that you can hook up with the LIGHTNING cluster.

Man that sounds complicated. I guess I was hoping on just changing out the template like with some of the other aftermarket "whiteface" gauges, etc. Then maybe calibrating everthing to work. I know mustangs are able to do this. Thanks Neal for the reply.
