black emblems

I've heard and read how everyone is chroming there fender and tailgate badges. Does anybody have black or smoked ones? I've got a silver truck with black fender flares, and I'm also hoping to swap out my front and rear chrome bumpers with the black ranch hand replacements. So I was thinking that black or smoked emblems would probably look good. Has anybody done it? Any pics?

Thanks,
Groggy

Here's another idea, this is what I did. I painted the emblems to match the body of the truck and then painted the letters black, this makes the emblems kindda blend with the truck.

My $0.02

That badge looks great Alf. You need to pain the base of your antenna though. I think smoked titanium finish would look really good on the badges. Mine are chromed right now, but it's a bit too much, so I may pull them off and paint them red to match the truck.

Cool

Thanks Jimmy Lee!

Plus this is a not so expensive mod. The badges cost about 15 bucks a piece, having them painted 30 bucks for all.

Thumbs up

Here's my tailgate emblem. I like it, and a couple of other guys have commented on it as well. Painting the letters in on the Triton logo really makes them jump out at you

Cool

Thanks Jimmy,
You know, I wasn't even thinking it about it at the time, but the way I painted them matches the loom and tie wraps on the engine. Weird huh?
