f150 to lightning
Hey I was wondering if anyone knew if the parts to a Ford F-150 Lightning like the front and rear bumber, the side skirts, and the seats would fit my 1999 reg cab stepside F-150? If so where could I buy these parts? Thanks!

Stay away from your local ford dealer go to fordpartsonline.com the local ford dealer will try to screw you atleast mine did. And they should fit but where does your exhaust exit ? Hopefuly infront of the passanger side rear tire if not your going to have a hole there for the exhause and no exhaust i suggest getting an exhaust system that exits there. Good luck

I am doing what you want to do but you would have it a bit easier than me. I have a 98 STX flareside I bought a set of 2001 L wheels and tires from a friends that has a L with 22's for $650 dollars. I lowered the truck with 3/4 kit from Chassis tech for $200. I just got in the pass. side ground effects from Ford for $272.00 (I get 25%off) and the drivers side should be in tomorrow for another $272.00. I just got my 1999 Lightning grille(don't care for the 2001 grille) in today $191.00. I still need to order the bumper, bumper brakets, bumper cover and supports. Since you have a 99 you will not need to buy the bumper itself just the cover and brackets. I say Go for it if for one reason or another you can't get a real lighting turn yours into a wanna be. Hey for $2000 parts including wheels and tires nobody will be able to tell the difference from the outside. Plus mine will be a lower. Best of luck to you

THATS WHAT I THINK ALSO, I HAVE A '99 BLACK SHORT CAB FLAIR SIDE THAT I DROPPEDLOWER THAN A LIGHTNING WITH A 2/4 BELLTECH KIT (SOON TO BE LOWER) I BAUGHT NICER + WIDER RIMS THAN THE STOCK LIGHTNING WHEELS. THE OEM SIDE SKIRTS AND FRONT PIECE I SAY PAINTED AND INSTALLED IS ABOUT 1600 OR 1700 BUX. THEN ALL YOU NEED IS A SUPERCHARGER WITH BETTER OUTPUT THAN THE LIGHTNING ONE WHICH IS WAY EASILY ACCOMPLISHED (VORTECH FOR EXAMPLE). IF YOU WANT TO REPLACE THE SEATS WITH LEATHER THATS ABOUT 1200 BUX. DONT GET ME WRONG I THINK LIGHTNINGS ARE BADDASS BUT EVERYONE IS FORGETTING THAT THE STOCK BADGE DOESNT MAKE THE TRUCK. JUST BECAUSE IT SAYS SVT DOESNT MEAN IT'S ONE OF A KIND. AND ILL RACE ANY STOCK LIGHTNING AND MATCH OR BEAT THEIR TIME IN THE 1/4 MILE. AND IF YOU OWN A LIGHTNING AND THINK OTHERWISE YOUR ONLY KIDDING YOURSELF.
I am not trying to beat any Lightnings, I just love the looks of them. Sure I am a wannabe so what? I do not kid myself into thinking that my little 4.6 is any match for a real Lightning. So therfore I do not race try racing people.
Sure I could dump 5 grand into my 4.6 and keep up with a stock L but all that I have created is a short term engine life vehicle that runs with a stock long term engine vehicle. as soon as the real L guy does any performance upgrade he leaves me again. It is cool to dream of Superchragers and nitrous systems but if your not going to actually build a motor with real rods and pistons and bearings that are capable of handling 3 of 4 hundred horsepower. You are just asking for problems. If you are just trying to look like a L thats cool but if your trying not only to look like one but run like one than it would be cheaper to just buy one. and as a bonus you get a biger rear end posi rear discs. a tougher trans better susp. ect. ect . ect. oh well just my $.02 I still love looking and getting looks in my wannabe. take it easy, 7

LOOKING LIKE A LIGHTNING IS ONE THING BUT I HAVE TO BACK IT UP WITH THE HORSES. IF YOUR WORRIED ABOUT ENGINE LIFE THEN CUSTOMIZING TRUCKS IS NOT FOR YOU. WHEN MY 4.6 GOES ILL JUST GET THE FORD CRATED 5.4 FOR 4,000 , OR YOU CAN BUY THE LIGHTNING ENGINE WITH THE CHARGER FOR 5,200 BUX. NOT BAD CONSIDERING IT SETS YOUR ODOMETER BACK TO ZERO AND ADDS A FEW MORE HORSES. THE ONLY WAY I WOULD CONSIDER A LIGHTNING IS IF IT WAS USED OR SOMETHING, THEY WANTED WAY TO MUCH FOR THEM NEW AND IT'S NOT LIKE THEY WILL HAGGEL OVER THE PRICE WITH YOU. AND THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE TO PUT DOWN WHEN YOU DO BUY IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO SUPE UP A TRUCK LIKE MINE. I DUNNO IT COMES DOWN TO WHAT YOU WANNA GET FOR YOUR MONEY. LIGHTNINGS ARE NICE BUT THEY JUST DONT ENTICE ME, I LIKE PROJECTS
I DONT KNOW THE 1/4 MILE TIME , I BASE THAT COMMENT OFF OF A RACE I HAD VERSUS A LIGHTNING. MY TOP SPEED HOWEVER IS BETWEEN 140 AND 150 SOMEWHERE. I HAVE TO GIVE CREDIT TO MY BUDDY'S LIGHTNING THOUGH BECAUSE WE RACED 5 TIMES AND I ONLY WON 2 TIMES, BUT THE OTHER 3 WERE WAY CLOSE (WERE TALKING 2 FEET OR SO OF LEAD) BUT STILL I GIVE HIM CREDIT FOR IT. NOT BAD FOR A CHARGED 4.6 THOUGH HUH? WHEN I GET A NEW TORQUE CONVERTER AND MY CHIP (I'VE BEEN WAITING TO STOP MODDING TO DO IT) WE'LL HAVE TO RACE AGAIN.
