Question Dash covers and Auto Head Lamps

Does anyone know where the Auto Head Lamp sensor is located on the F150 Super Crew? I recently installed a dash cover, and I just realized that maybe I covered up the sensor at the same time. The folks that I ordered the cover from never asked if the truck had Auto lamps and I forgot to mention it.

Can you point me in the right direction?

I found it!

I found the Auto Lamp sensor. It looks like I have a Dash cover that I can't use. There is no opening to allow light to pass through!!!!!

Neil,

All is not lost! Install the dash cover. Then, carefully measure where you need a cutout for the autolamp sensor. Remove the dash cover, using an x-acto knife, cut out a small opening in the dash cover for the autolamp sensor. Obtaining the exact location on the dash cover will be a little tricky, but with some patience, you should be able to do it properly. Use a straight edge ruler to assist in making an even cut. Don't try to cut out the opening while the dash cover is mounted on your dash!

PS Check the underside of your dash cover... sometimes the manufacturer will mark cutout locations for optional vehicle accessories such as the autolamp feature.

Thanks CBechtel,

I'm going to check to see if the place I bought it from will exchange it for the correct one first. I'd assume that they will exchange it since I've only had it a little over a week.

If they don't take it back then I'll either put it up on ebay or take the x-acto knife to it.

Anyone interested in making me an offer on the dash cover. It is brand new, matches the tan interior very well. Not made for use with AUTO HEADLAMPS.

Lets talk.

Unhappy

I ordered another new cover today, this time a different brand, and it has the cut out in the right spot for the sensor!

The other one is up for grabs for sure now!....someone out there must want one.
