Sylvania SilverStar headlamp bulbs test drive....(DEER)
Hey guys this post was meant for test drive last night. Got me a set of these new Sylvania SilverStar Halagon bulbs. I installed these sine one of my Hyper HID bulbs had burnt out and this post was meant to give you guys an overview. Well I got a deer guys! I now can say this, the lights which were installed in 2001 L headlamp assemblies and WoW! The output was awesome, however the car in front of me swerved into the on coming lane and there was Bambi darting straight for ShowYa, my truck, needless to say the the truck is drivable.
Anyone need any F 150 parts, may have some salvage parts once insurance steps in, looks like the Classic Concept Design bumper cover is gonna get replaced with a L cover.
Thanks to N Minor for the L billet insert, it will be salvageable.

Hey there guys, I have to admit here that I settled this claim with State Farm within 24 hours! No question asked either. I will be getting a Lightning bumper cover for sure now, only catch is they will only buy the right fog lamp( left was still intact). Anyone kno where I can get a 99-00 Left fog lamp reasonable. Also is there any different between to 99-00-01-02 bumper covers, the body shop is willing to work with me here since the cover I have would cost close to $250 more that the OEM L cover. As for the headlights they are intact, right headlight a little out of whack, think I am gonna need an ole fashion front end algnment too!
I will posting a used lower Stull billet insert on ebay next week though once my parts are here, It is used, with a few rock chips in it but unharmed from accident. I will more than likely get a new insert since I recently installed a polished upper Stull grille.
ShowYa in Kansas City, BTW, I have also run for almost 3 years with no front tag either, looks like the new cover will be getting a tag since the body shop ordered a tag holder with the cover.

Last Saturday, I happened to stop by a Auto Zone store in Irving, Texas, and they had just stocked their shelves with the new Sylvania Silver Star bulbs. I bought a pair of 9007's for my F150 (around $50 plus tax for the pair). I have not had a chance to install them, but I am anxious to see how they perform. I would assume that all the Auto Zone stores are stocking them.

Hey there CBechtel:
I got mine for around the same, not many Auto Zones left in Kansas City around here, not sure why either. We have them north and south, closest PepBoys is only 165 miles from my house and I see at least 1 commercial a day for them, wonder if they deliver? I must admit though I ordered new HID bulbs from MrTailLight, but for now these will do and may or may not keep these, was told they would even return them within 10 days if I was 100% satisfied with the light output.

Anyone on here wanna make me an offer for a Classic Design Concepts bumper cover, repairable, but gonna need some serious TLC to make a full recovery.

Howdy ALL,
My PIAA's for the factory driving lights just went out. Couldn't believe it, there are only 6 months old. Both went out at the same time strange. AnyWho decides to try the Sylvania Silver Star bulbs. Installed them last night and I would say that they are definitely whiter than my PIAA headlamp bulbs. They make the PIAA look at little yellow. As far as brighter and better vision, they appear to illuminate the road in front of and to the sides of the truck more evenly than the PIAAs. Don’t really notice any dark spots that are not filled in. Although they are 65 watts compared to the PIAAs that were 60 watts.
It’s hard to say unless we could have a side-by-side comparison.
When I head up North in a couple of days, I’ll know better. Where I go there isn’t any streetlights, just the MooN and Da StaRS!……..

Hey ShowYa.....
Sorry to hear about the truck, at least you're getting an L bumper out of the deal
Here's a set of foglights for sale for $150. He didn't get any responses, so maybe he will negotiate on them? They sound like they are new. Worth a look?,,,,,98

I almost hit a deer while I was there in KC, too. This one had a BIG rack though.

Hey 98, thanks for the heads up, just shot over there and left a post for him. Yeah bad deal bad timing too. Insurance called Thursday evening at 9:30 to confirm they will replace the front end, now I gotta figure out how I can get them to just pay me for the fog lamp so I can get a pair, figure since I have 2001 L lights all the way around here, just want OEM bumper lamps, but not gonna mess with 2001-2002 lamps due to high warranty claims.
Thanks again 98, Happy New Year to everyone and once I get this thing back to a 100%, I wanna hook up with someone who can get this ride online, I have to figure what I am foing wrong here. Can not load pictures for anything here.
ShowYa in 2001, C ya in 2002 !!
If you get the 01 L bumper cover like i think you will. You are
gonna have to get the new lights cuz the 99-00 lights don't fit in the 01 bumper cover believe me i tried. And the hole for the bottom grill is smaller its cinda funny i made a 99-00 billet grill fit in it. I would try to talk em into getting both lights to be honest im not sure if they maye the 99-00 cover anymore. I think when a lightning wrecks now they replace the front bumper with the 01 . I think you will like the 01 fogs better anyway they are dinkier but they look better and are way easy to install. You might also have to get the new fog light brackets im not sure of that one though the old ones might work. Hope this all works out.

Hey there Lone Wolf, thanks but that reads glass unit, what about the mounting bracket, I think these are only the lamp assembly, I will give them a call this week, also can anyone tell me weather there is a difference between a 1999-2000-2001-2002 bumper cover, body shop says they are replacing mine with a 99 cover, is there a different part # for each year guys?
Thanks ShowYa in KC!!!
