Cool Bug / Hood Deflector

I have seen an article a long time ago about how to make the deflector look like new but I can't find it anymore. It has a bunch of small marks that doesn't wash off or even scratch off. What the article was talking about was spraying something on it after it was really good and clean. The only thing that I can think of right now is like a clean lacquer OR clear coat spray. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

Try pledge. Its an old pilots trick that will take surface scratches out of plexiglass, which light plane windshields are made of.

STP Son-of-a-Gun works good too. Spray it on and let it soak in for a few hours. I use it on my quad's fenders every so often. Works great.
