Question removal of center radio surround

I would like to remove the center radio console surround on my 2000 F-150, as I want to change it to a carbon fibre look. Does anyone know how to remove it without breaking the plastic piece, thanks

Talking Just pull it...

grab a corner and pull, then go the next corner... there are clips on the back side that will come out when you pull on it. then just push it back on.

You can swing the vents over to one side and get you fingers on a ridge just behind the vent edge and pull the whole thing out at once. The instructions for my stereo install kit said to do that and it worked great, no damage to anything...

OldTimer: Try the Install DR @ http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/FLM/PDF/356017.pdf
for lots of detail and photos. You'll need Acrobat Reader to view the PDF files - - you can download through the Installdr web page (if you don't already have the program). Best of luck.

FedExPilot, thanks for your help, it came off fine, and the instruction guide was nicely done.
