Window Tinting Tips

anyone have tips for installing window tint. i tried and failed today its really difficult to get it right and stay and everything. Im hoping on replacing my stock speakers, and I wanted to know if i could remove the window then install it. That would be much easier for me, but i dunno how easy that will be.

easy steps. follow these and it will look great.

1. Get in your vehicle
2. Drive down the road
3. find a place that does window tints
4. pay a professional to do it.

there is a reason why you can go to walmart and buy enough window film to do your entire truck for $12

and the guy at the shop chargers you $150++

they use professional equipment and it is very very very hard to do.

Ever notice another car that has that purple film all bubbled up.

its because they did it themselves.
it may look good at first but over time it will slowly come off.

now dont get me wrong some people know what they are doing and they can do it themselves but i doubt anyone has ever bought that cheap @$$ film and got it to look great.

there is a big difference in the $h!t at walmart and the 3m film they use at a window tint shop.

ive tinted a few older trucks that i have had. use plenty of water in a spray bottle so that you can move the tint around, have a really sharp razor knife and make extra sure the glass is super clean.if your truck is really nice do as mentioned before find a shop that can do it. 100 bucks or so is worth it in the long run. anything new that i buy i take to the pros.

Thumbs up

I had mine done the first week I had the truck and it still looks great after 2 years. There is no way I could have done as nice a job as the shop did and if I'm not mistaken, it only cost me $75 for the front two windows.

Also, I'm pretty sure that it's illegal to do the front windshield. As it was, I had to sign a waiver saying that I knew my tint was illegal when they did the driver and passenger side windows.

Ive tinted every vehicle I've ever owned. Just make sure windows are clean, use plenty of slightly soapy water, and no dusty condition. When you put it on the doors, roll the window down a few inches to fit the top, then roll up and finish.

It is illegal to tint the front windshield below the AS1 line in all states. If you look at your windshield you will see a mark AS1 near the the top left and right. If you draw a line between these two marks you can tint above that in some states. Most windshields already have a colored section there.
