Painting Ford Emblems

I am thinking about painting the Ford and Expedition logos black. Is there any kind of paint that you recommend? Can i paint directly over them or do i have to strip them with something first? What kind of 3M Tape do i use to reattach them....is there a specific type?

Sorry, probably just the expedition badges. I might buy the black ford logos (or is it possible to paint them black as well).

Hey guys, I blacked mine out shortly after I got my truck. I stripped the fender badges and tailgate badge and painted with automotive paint, cleared them and never had a problem! As far as the blue ovals are concerned, you will need to find an older say 1998 or older donar badge because Ford made the 1999 and newer badges one piece. I used Ford Econoline hood badges for my truck and just glued them back together, takes 2 to make a good one. Here is a picture of my tailgate SVT badge if it loads please load please load...........

Thanks again Showya!

Here's mine! Alot of careful taping and finish work, but well worth it. They are complete reversed from the factory finish.,,,,98
