Question Looking to trade up...

I am considering a possible purchase of a 2002 F150 XLT SuperCab 4x4 Styleside. With the APR offers, I can get into one cheap. Plus I have an contact at a major Ford dealer in my area. I can get the truck at TRUE COST, not invoice or stated cost. Please let me know if I should add any other options. I selected: XLT Sport Group (color keyed parts), 5.4L/Auto, 3.55LS, Captains Chairs, Rear Slider, and ES 4x4.

Black w/dark graphite interior

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

If I could get a truck at true dealer cost I would have to get the Lariat and get it loaded. It would probably be the same price if not lower than what anyone else could get the XLT for. You would probably regret not getting it later on down the road. I know I would.

Thumbs down Lariat Is Too Much $$$

Thanks, I would love the Lariat, but the price difference is alot. When I priced one up on www.fordvehicles.com I took a Lariat and stripped it down the most I could, about $3000 more than the XLT I set up. Leather and tape stripes aren't worth that much. I should know tomorrow the final details on the buy. Talked to my guy tonight, gave him my wish list, gonna do some work for me to find my truck and get me a good trade in price.

Thanks Again!!

At "true" dealer cost that lariat pkg should shrink up to a manageable size. True for cost is probably $130 in material and 200 in labour.

The truck I priced up today had a MSRP of just under $32,000. I was quoted a price of $23,275. That is approx. $2800 below invoice. With the Lariat, it will add about $22 a month to the payment. I am cutting it close to budget with the deal even as good as it is. I may have to re-think this and wait a bit. With times as hard as they are right know, I could very well be out of a job in a matter of weeks. So I may just refinance my current truck and drop my payments by $70 a month. I would sure love that new toy, and my buddy is going to try and see if he can work something with my trade. I should have about $2500 in equity. Hope that will help.
