Unhappy Removal of wood trim

I just installed a wood dash trim kit on My 98 Expy. I am not one bit happy with it....is there any way to remove it without harming the dash? If I do remove it, and the dash is discolored....can you recommend a kit that is a good quality that i could use to cover it up? My pieces seem very thick and difficult to form, alot of the edges are coming up. I removed the pieces from the cupholder in the dash and the small door that covers up the cigarette lighter...I will have to replace them.
If anyone can give me any help, I would greatly appreciate it. Please help this frustrated (but still proud) expy owner.

heat it with a hair dryer a bit, then just pull it off. I just removed one from my truck and it came off pretty easy. Of course some of the pieces tore and are not usable again, but i wasnt worried about that. I installed a different one after taking the one off.

I now have a B&I kit with the molded pieces around the radio and steering column.

Wood dash kits

Thaison: Check out discountdash.com They have an excellent kit . If you remove your kit you can cover it up with the kit from discountdash. I removed mine and it did not hurt the dash.
