Body work advice

Greetings,
I recently had truck at body shop to replace some rusted metal. I told them not to paint as I was considering having all four of the outer wheel wells (about 3" wide) sprayed with same material that was applied to bed. After looking around, I'm not seeing this done unless there are flares installed. I sure could use some suggestion on which way to go.

When I had some rust repair done to my truck, I was contemplating them do chip guard on the fenders. I decided against it. However, I had my guy do it higher up on the lower panels...

I think I'm just going to paint. Truck is 14 years old with 250k miles. Nothing lasts forever... Thanks
