shedding weight
shedding weight
besides the obvious roll pan, are there any other tricks to shed some weight? i mean, i'm not about to start throwing out seats and everything that moves, but anyone know any tricks for quicker times?
Hey Bullit, There's no doubt that reducing weight will lower your ETs. It swings the power to wieght ratio in a favorable direction.
There's a lot of ways to accomplish this and you are only limted to your own preferences. Do you want to remain street legal?
You can start with removing the spare, jack, and crank handle.
There's also the tailgate, cap and liner and keep the gas tank aruond 1/4 full. I keep an emergency kit in my bed that has things like a shovel, gloves, ropes, a jumpsuit, flares and more. Get rid of any such spare weight, empty out you glovebox and door panel cubby holes as this stuff adds up too.
How about seats, doorpanels, rug, and insulation. Want more...... bumpers, wheel wells, power window motors, lights, AC compressor, condenser coil, evaporator coil, heater core, dash, etc. etc. etc.
You can skin a truck pretty good if you want but there are sacrifices to be made. It's up to you to decide how far you care to take it.
Hmmmm, anyone ever fill their tires with helium?
