Tailgate Access panel

I was gonna gather parts to delete my stripper pole on my 2014 Fx4 as I did on my old 2011 Limited. My question is does anyone have any clue WHY these panels have increased in value? When I ordered the access panel from tasca 3 years ago I think I paid $50-$60, NOW they are $350-$360. How does something like a thin sheet of metal increase in price by $300, I'd rather deal with sitting only on the passenger side of the tailgate before spending that much. Sorry if this is the wrong section but I didn't know which section was best suited for my question. this is the part. 9L3Z-9943121-AA

No idea about the costs but I would think that you could easily find someone that WANTS the stripper pole and would swap parts with you AND that would throw in some $$$ to boot.

Haven't thought about that, might try that with the spare one I removed from my other one.

I finally tried a local salvage yard and picked up that panel for $40!
