? for all with fender flares...need help

Has anyone had success with using 3m double sided tape between truck body and rubber trim on fender flare to prevent paint damage from vibrations. have a set of Bushwacker extend-a-flares paintd and sitting in my garage but need advice.

I haven't used it for this particular application, but I have used 3M 20 lb. exterior mounting tape on my fender badges and hood/tailgate emblems, among other things, and it's stout stuff. I'd go ahead and at least give it a try.

Update: tried putting 3m double sided tape on them but when you try to remove red tape liner crap it breaks. flares puch up against side of truck to hard. I guess that 3m protective film will be what i try next.

What breaks? It's pretty thick foamy stuff, at least what I'm talking about. I've also never had any issue with anything "breaking" while removing the red plastic that covers the adhesive. I don't think I understand what you're trying to say.

The red plastic cover kept breaking. Not the tape itself. The flares had to be bolted on and they pressed so hard against the fender that when pulling (slowly) the red cover it kept stretching and tearing. Huge hassle. I have never had a problem with the 3m tape just in the case it was a problem. I was also already irritated from fighting with wife durning install (she helped...sort of). Needed a second pair of hands, should have waited on my friends instead. Still think 3m protective film is a better choice in this instance. Just my 2cents

Used 3m 1/4" 0.49mm double sided auto tape. (Oreilly ordered it)

I would think the cover should be removed BEFORE pressing on it at all? Unless you didn't want it sticking beforehand while lining it up, which I could understand.

Yeah where I thought the flares would fall and where they actually did once you pushed them in and attached them was different. So I had to do it after they were attached. Kinda of a bummer (tedious work for nothing).
