Question help with white face guage install

Vehicle is a 98 f150/stx, auto, 4.2, guage with tach..Long story short, i'm having trouble getting the left side of the dash off to install the guage. I took about 8-10 screws out in various areas of the dash, but it still feels like there is something holding it on around/behind the light switch on the left hand side. If I pull on the piece of dash to the left of the switch now, it pulls away with a click, like it's held on by one of the clips. The top of this piece, that goes over the top of the guage is loose, the middle piece, that fits over the steering column has been removed, and the piece under the steering column has been pulled down. I can't see anymore screws that need to be removed, and i've pulled on/around the piece that i'm having trouble with, and it doesn't feel like it is held on with a clip..i've pulled decently hard. Any idea's?

There's a screw behind the headlight/dimmer switch assembly. It's a real pain getting it out. You might want to use a small screwdriver; it'll help poping that sucker out. Then you'll see the screw.

I had the same problem with mine, there is a screw behind the light switch panel. So to get to it you remove the switch panel by lightly prying the left side panel(by the switch) after doing that look inside behind the switch and you'll see a latch on the back of the switch panel, push that in and your switch assy. will slide out revealing the hidden screw. Good luck.

I'd advise a search, Bobo. Most everything has been covered.

(From a previous post)

To remove the light switch assembly:

*Turn the lights to the "ON" position.
*Pull back on the ****.(You'll see a small opening at the base)
*Put a small screwdriver in the opening and pull back on the switch while at the same time using the screw driver as a lever.
*When the **** pops off, turn it 180 degrees and push it back onto the switch assembly.
*With the **** back on the switch assembly (backwards) turn the **** clockwise and pull back. Turning the **** releases spring loaded clips and the assembly will slide out of the dash panel.

I don't think the Haynes manual explaines this very well.
