Weather Tech window ventvisors

Does anybody have any experience(s) with this brand?

Their cost is about double the Ventvisor brand.

I like the idea of not taping them to the truck plus they can be removed for cleaning/detailing. (They fit into the window track)

The manufacturer claims they won't produce them for any model vehicle that doesn't allow correct operation of the windows but my concern is the strain on the window motor as it nears the fully closed/up position.

TIA... XLT_D

Cool

Got them, love them. I put them on my white 01 Lightning. they look great and work very well in the summer heat. I leave the windows cracked when parked in the sun and the truck stay cool. They just snap into the channel. After a day they seat themselves and stay in place real well. No tape or screws.

Well I don't know about this brand, but I tried the Ventvisors on wifey's Explorer and it was a disaster. What I mean is; all that was available was the type that goes "inside" the window track. There simply is not enough space for the glass and a chunk of plastic to occupy that space.

On the other hand, I've beem using the Ventvisor 3M outside stick-on for many years and am very happy. Just put them on my F150 Harley Supercrewzer.

Thumbs up

Just put em on last week, very satisfied. This weekend I was parked next to another 99 F-150, I can't remember which brand it had but I noticed that they started at the angled part of the window instead of at the bottom like the weather tech's do, I got the window deflectors primarily so I could smoke and hopefully not kill the interior smell, my boss has em on his truck and they have worked well for him, I bitched about the price too.
That missing section on that other brand would not have worked for me.
I haven't noticed any change whatsoever in the operation of the window.
Another positive thing for me as that they are almost unoticeable on my white 99, I didn't want them to stick on like a sore thumb.

A guy I work with has had them on his 2000 Super Duty Crew Cab since it was new. He hasn't had any problems with them. I ordered a set last week for my 2002 Super Duty that is supposed to be built today.

WeatherTech . . .

Have used both WeatherTech and VentShade . . . ! Now I will only use the WeatherTech . . . no tape, no mess, no fuss. They install easy, no alignment problems, stay in place until you need to remove them!

So, add my vote to the WeatherTech side!

By the way, you are not counting votes from Florida are you?

Another vote for WeatherTech. Better quality and looks. Spending nearly $30K for my truck, why not the best accessories.

I didn't like the color of the weather techs i've seen. I have some "no name" visors from australia. They're the same smoke gray color as the vent visors and look look like a cross between vent visors and aero vent visors. Very heavy construction. They snap in the window channel like the weather techs. Yes they're about 2X the price of vent visors.

Try these folks and ask for Brian - He should remember them.

2 questions...

The Weathertechs are clear, correct?

Do they make them for the extended cab windows, and if so, how do those mount?

Joe,

No they are not clear but are much "lighter" than say the VentVisor brand.

Because of their mounting scheme they are not available for the cab windows.

Just ordered......

a set(2) of Wind-und-Sturm Shields(made in Germany) from Herrinton Catalogs. The order-taker was not too 'swift' or she didn't have the best info as to which f150s they will fit. I 'think' they will fit my 01L and, I think they have a model for the ext. cabs.

It takes 2-3 wks for delivery(direct from Germany?), so I will post my opinion of them as soon as I get them. The slide into the window channel too.

Later,

Dan

I got the Weathertech on my 01 Xcab, I like them, installation was easy, windows work fine, they look better than the stick on, only have had them in the rain yet to see if they deflect rain with the window open, stick ons seems to reach out a little further.
