Fiberwerx TT kit
Fiberwerx TT kit
I was looking around at their bedsides and one piece front fenders/hood. Just wondering if anyone on here has used them before? How's the fitment and quality? Anything I should watch out for when going this route?
Fitment is gonna be like anything out of a mold, it'll take a decent amount of time to get everything lined up and trimmed perfectly. I think I spent like half a day on my front fenders slowly trimming to get the door to open without catching on them. Then if you plan to get them repainted to match your truck you'll need to fully prep them, they come gel coated and they'll have minor imperfections in them that will need to be filled and sanded smooth. I spray painted my front fenders though so I can't give you an estimate of how long that'll take.
Since the front end is a one piece you'll have to do some fabwork to mount the hoodpins or figure out a way to do a tilt front end, seen it done both ways but no clue how to do the tilt. And you'll probably have to do some minor trimming to get the fit right where the hood/grill/main fender piece meets the mini fenders.
You'll have to redo your inner fender liners to get them to look right, I trimmed mine back and mounted them to the core support to move them back, I have pictures on here somewhere if you wanna see how I did it.
In your pictures I can't see if your stepside or not but if you are you'll be in luck since the stepsides are already fiberglass, you can unbolt them and pretty much bolt the new bedsides to the stock holes with some minor finessing around the cab. You'll just have to make new supports that run out to the corners of the wheel wells to keep it from flexing and cracking. If your not stepside and you have the metal bed, your gonna have to skin the old bedsides (basically cut them off along the spot welds while still leaving places to mount the new ones too).
In your pics you have that brushguard, I'd definitely recommend taking it off if you go this route because if something hits the front end and it pushes it back into the grill your basically stuck either doing a lot of fiberglass repair or replacing it completely.
Some side notes would be I wouldn't recommend getting the louvers cut out on the hood, a lot of people say in daily driving while it's raining it'll shoot water straight up onto the windshield. And in the rear you'll lose your liners so again during rain if you carry stuff under a cover that you want dry water can possibly get up in there.
But the biggest side note would be your truck doesn't look lifted or like the tires stick out any. You'd really need to do something to get those wheels out there to fill out the bedsides and especially a tt front clip. To give you an example if you look at my pics my fenders are 4.5" over iirc and I barely fill them out all the way up front. And that's with my truck being 1.5" over per side because of the spindles, a wheel with 4.5" of backspacing, and 12.50" tires.

Thank you pizzaman, my truck is not a step side. I know I'll need to do something to widen my stance a good bit. Eventually(way down the road) I want to do a full suspension swap like dirtshark or the budget raptor build from extreme 4x4. I also have wanted to get rid of my brush guard and nerf bars. Are the new fenders and one piece any lighter than factory? I would think so but im not sure by how much.
