Wanting to paint inserts on 2010 grille

I am wanting to paint the plastic mesh style inserts on my 2010 lariat grille. I am wondering if anyone has done this yet? If so can you take the inserts off or should i just tape off the chrome and go for it?!! I would like to see what it looks like before i do it just to see if thats really what im wanting or should i just get another style grille!?

I'll take a crack at it, but in this situation, black is tough to pull off. If you look at the original photo, there are basically two colors to the grille insert, black and grey. If you make the grey part black, they end result is a solid black grille.

I'll see what I can do, but it probably won't look realistic enough to give you a real idea how black would really look in the real world.

Yeah, given your black wheels, I think a black grill would look great!

You could go with a red grille, and anodize your wheels......naw, go with black!

With the black wheels I'm guessing you wouldn't want to trade that grille for one off a 2012 lariat chrome package (all chrome)? I'm in Utah... looks like Utah plates on your photo.
