need some bull bar advice

im lookin at gettin a bull bar for my 06 f150 but not sure what brands are good and what ones to stay away from. im also open to the idea of going with a lightbar instead, but not sure where to start on those. If i went with a light bar would i need a heavier duty alternator?

I'm not sure but from personal experience weston has made a decent bull bar. I personally have a light bar, but I custom built my own. Maybe others that have purchased other manufactured light bars can chime in. I like the N-Fab model light bar. Nope no need for a heavier duty alternator unless your mounting some massive lights. Hope that helps a little. If you have more specific questions feel free to hit me up.

In my opnion it's all about how much you want to spend. Stainless or powder coat steel? do you want rust in 2 to 3 years or not. I run westin step bars in stainless, they've been on my truck for 10 years, no issues, westin makes a good product. bought the Aries bull bar on E-Bay for 195.00 in black for the "look" i was going for, price was good, mounted the same as other i've seen, seems sturdy, cost was a lot less than stainless but i know it's gonna rust i a few years. if i were to do it again, I'd get westin.

I would go for a light bar. I used to have a bull bar on my truck but I took it off, it makes the front end look too busy once you start adding lights. If you are mounting it for the sole purpose of mounting lights get a light bar.
