replacement antenna

My antenna on my 2001 F150 4x4 SC hits the ceiling in the parking garages. Any recommendations on a short replacement antenna? Thanks

Cool

I know Trenz and Billet Specialties make 18" billet antennas. Don't know how the reception is with a smaller antenna since I don't have one yet, but they sure do look better!

. . . went with a short mast with a twist in it . . . shorter than the cab . . . dosen't really matter too much what kind of antenna you use for FM . . . most FM stations around here come in load and clear without an antenna . . .

I bought a short, stubby, about 18 inches long antenna from Radio Shack. Teh kit came with 3 or 4 adapters to match the different manufacturers, GM. Chrysler, Ford. Cost was about $6.00. Appears to work as good as the original and does not hit the garage.

I lived in Alamogordo for 4 years in the late 70's. We received 4 or 5 radio stations back then.

I got a nice one from www.shortyantennas.com

They are about 40 bucks shipped with an adapter. they have all different lengths and colors. I thionk they are also selling on Ebay ...same guy...for a little cheaper.

I originally got one of those rubber jobs but it looks too goofy for my taste and is always curved.

The only thing to be careful of is that some of the shortys are very stiff and not a good idea for anyone who uses drive-thru-car auto-washes. But none of us would use those anyhow right?

Post Logo Antenna

jryager, J.C. Whitney sells the logo antennas. They are a little shorter, but I don't know if the reception is any good.
