08 F150 EFX rollpan not fitting

Hi all, Im new here to the site. I just got a 08 F150 and bought an EFX replacement rollpan off ebay. I went to install it and the roll pan doesn't extend passed the bottom of the bumper mounts. The bottom of the bumper mounts doesn't allow the rollpan to reach the bed to screw on straight. Has anyone else have this problem or anyone know whats going on. The company i bought it from stated it fits my truck and I looked up the part number and it states it fits but theres no way unless I cut and inch or so off the bottom of the bumper mount or cut into the rollpan.

Me thinks you need to keep unbolting things. The roll pan does not utilize any of the factory bumper brackets. Keep unbolting parts until you get to the point where there is nothing left to unbolt.

Thanks guys. I took some pics. I put my bumper back on for now until figure this out. The pic is with the bumper on but I think you can see what I'm talking about. the black tab that extends past the bumper is part of the bumper mount and these are welded to the frame. The roll pan doesn't clear this for some reason.

Explain how you are removing the bumper. The Bumper actually is kinda two piece you have the chrome bumper piece then you also have the mounting bracket for the bumper. It looks to me as if your not removing everything. Looks like you just removed part of the towing hitch.

When we mounted mine we had to notch the roll pan to get it too fit. That or cut the bumper mounts down.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I didn't get a chance to get of pic with the roll pan today, Im a motorcycle mechanic and the warm weather today got me swamped. The Bumper has the chrome outer shell and the inner black reinforcement bar. I took the complete bumper including both pieces together with the 4 large nuts on the back side where it bolts on to the (welded to frame) bumper mounts. Unfortunately there isn't anything more to unbolt to get off. What is in the way is the actual bumper mounts that are welded to the frame. Im starting to think these mounts are different on a 07-08 compared to the 04-06. They might sit lower then the earlier style. The box and dealer says it indeed fits my truck. To me it looks impossible without cutting the mounts or the rolllpan as jsvo5695 stated. I will try to get a pic but its the same tabs that are pictured. On the bumper mount there are 4 holes on each side. The top 2 is where the bumper mounts, does anyone know what the bottom 2 are. I want to install a hided hitch and want to make sure those arnt for that. Thanks again everyone for helping me with any advise you have.

I got a strong feeling that those lower holes are used to incorporate a factory hitch assembly. With a simple Google search you should be able to track down and read the install instructions for the Hidden Hitch that you want.
