bulid up of material on running boards

Unhappy bulid up of material on running boards

i have a 2004 screw fx4 and the black and aluminum stock running boards and there is a build up of residue on the chrome i can scrape it off with my fingernail but its hard to get off wondering if anyone had this problem and what is the best way to remove the residue help please???

Steel wool won't hurt chrome. Do not use your wife's nylon scouring pads, they will scratch it in mere seconds. Get steel wool. Start on a bottom corner on the underside to make sure, but assuming that it is normal chrome, it will work in seconds.

U want to buy very fine steel wool. Then use some soap and hot water with it. I've done it to my wheels and nerf bars. In the past.. works great
