Question Lund SunVisor or MoonVisor?

Hi All,

I am currently in the market for a visor for my 2000 F-150 XLT 4x4. I have two questions:

1. What are your opinions on the fit, function and style of the MoonVisor vs. the SunVisor (haven't yet made up my mind)

2. Where is the best place to purchase a visor?

Thanks in advance...

Thumbs down

cyclone, I just removed my Lund MoonVisor. You should really think about not installing a visor. Not only does it increase wind noise and vibration, it will also decrease your gas mileage. Mine dropped 2 miles per gallon after I installed it. Now having said all that, mine is for sale. It's painted silver and is in very good shape. You can check out a picture of it via the link in my signature. If your interested email me

Cool

I have the Moon visor (lighted). I like it, and have had no problems with it. Yes it "will" cause more drag, effecting MPG, but it's your truck and money.

MN-Trap, S-76,

Thanks for your quick replies. Given your feedback, I am now rethinking my decision to buy one. I have about a 90 mile round trip commute to work every day. While my happiness with my truck currently outweighs the poor gas mileage I am getting (about 13.4), I do not know if I could justify losing 2 MPG.

Well, yes there is a drag issue (kind of obvious), but I doubt I lost 2 mpgs due to the visor. If you do get one, take your time when installing. Do the job correctly and you will not have any trouble. Lund makes a solid product.

Thanks again S-76. How noticible is the wind noise at highway speeds?

I do have "some" wind noise...not annoying. Sounds like a rush of air, not a whistle or a whine. I also have a bug gard and vent visors. So I'm not to sure if it is one item or all 3 working together.
Like I said, the noise is not bad at all. Everyone has a personal tolerence, it doesn't exceede mine. I also had mine installed professionaly by a reputable body shop. They color matched it and installed. Zero problems.
good luck with whatever you choose!!

I have the Lund SunVisor, I kind of wanted the MoonVisor, but I got it as a gift, so I went with it, and I am very happy with it, I like the way it looks on the truck, the colormatch is good and it's a very straight installation. Just depends on what you like, not enough windnoise to bother me.
