Question Help with mirrors

I have a 2009 XLT that did not come with the turn signals built into the mirrors. One of my mirrors needs to be replaced and I would just like to get two new ones with the signals. I know that in some vehicles that are massed produced, they run everything for all of the options, its just that some aren't installed. I was wondering if there was any way to tell if I could put the mirrors with the signals on my truck, or if they wouldn't work at all. I don't want to have to run a bunch of wiring. Thanks.

you will have to pull off a front door panel and see the wiring that goes into the plug for the mirror. IF there are more wires going into the plug and less coming out into the mirror chances are your wired for turns.

Most likely if your wired at the door you will only be prewired for turns up to the mirror plug. The mirror itself will not be wired for them. You can get the turn mirrors like you want but be prepared to pay quite a bit for them as they are not cheap.

Another alternative may be less costly is to replace your broken one with a turn one, and get the wiring harness and LED turn signal for the one that currently doesnt have it. It may save you a hundred bucks or two.
