Black out 2010 Lariat grille

Hey guys tonight I disassembeled my new Lariat grille and blacked out the flat silver that Ford painted the in lay. With a little patience the grille separated from them chrome with no problem. I used SEM flat trim paint to cover the silver. If anyone is interested I could post some pictures?

So the inner grille separates from the outer chrome or painted grille surround. What was that process? Would love to switch out my fx4 grille for fx2 or harley while keeping my painted surround.

After the grille is removed from the truck when you turn it over you will notice the inner grille is held on with plastic tabs. I used a small flat blade screw driver to pry the tabs back so that so the inner grille would release from the chrome. You will see what I'm talking about when you look at the back of your grille.
