Any one using black chrome paint...

How's it holding up... Where'd you use it...

Having my heads done PTM... So only chrome left is the rear oval f150 badge and running boards... Thinking of doing them in black chrome...

Will it hold up on the running boards??

You might wanna direct your attention to the two recent black chrome threads.

Elvato gave you the best options for info.

I will be doing my bullbar this upcoming summer. From what I can tell once the chrome is sprayed with the stuff in those threads its almost impossible to get off.

I'm the originator of the second thread referenced above. Its seems to be a form of paint obviously, so I think its going to stand up like paint would. So I would think if bull bars and step bars and such were painted they would be prone to chipping with rocks and stuff. Which isn't a deal breaker to me but an observation, hopefully it can be touched up easily, and I would be going heavy with the clear coat.

From what I have read once the paint dries and cleacoat is applied...you DO NOT want to go back over with the tinting paint as it will come out like black flat spray paint with no chrome showing thru. Just an FYI for people thinking about touching up rock chips etc....might be something you spray on a piece of paper or cardboard and use a q tip etc to add the touchup paint to the exposed piece of chrome from the rock chip; then clear coat the one spot.

Might be able to wetsand through the clear coat too. I would probably test that out first on the extra pieces I practiced on.
