Hella HID question

I got 2 Hella Black Magic 500 lights, which is just a normal light, but it has a black plastic fin piece inside to make the whole thing look black. The question i have is that people say HIDs can melt a fog light housing, if i were to put HIDs in my Hellas with that plastic piece inside of it. Would it melt it? I'd love to HIDs in my heads and fogs, but that would be a little more costly.

would they even fit? the thing is, hellas 500's use H1 bulbs, which are about the size of a peanut and H1 HID bulbs are about 3 times longer,

I know mine has h3 bulbs. But I have no experience at all with hids. And I saw someone do something like what I'm talking about, I just wanna make sure it's not gonna melt that plastic piece inside my light.
